Do you need to talk?
Starting a counselling relationship is a pro-active and positive step to help you manage your life more effectively. I am confident I can help you deal with whatever symptoms of anxiety or depression you are experiencing
My background
I have many years of experience, having worked in private practice and for a variety of organisations-including the NHS. I work with people like you who may be struggling with anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, surviving trauma, experiencing perinatal depression, drug/alcohol related issues, amongst many other mental health difficulties.
Who I can help
I offer individual and couples/relationship counselling and supervise counsellors and trainee counsellors.
My Approach
As a Person Centred trained Counsellor and Focusing Orientated therapist I aim to create a trusting, safe, open and supportive relationship in which we can begin to explore the issues that are troubling you.
There are many different aspects to counselling but for me it encompasses the gentle art of self-acceptance and self-empowerment. It helps us to deal more effectively with the difficult and painful events in life which we all face from time to time. It will allow you to re-discover and embrace your uniqueness and complexity as well as provide a sense of meaning and perspective to your life
I see my role as facilitating you in having a better relationship with yourself which will in turn enhance your other relationships. My belief is that we gain a greater sense of well-being if we integrate those parts of ourselves we find uncomfortable and tend to ignore or deny. My experience has shown me that those parts of ourselves we find difficult to acknowledge, potentially offer us the greatest gifts and insights.
I work with couples/relationships and individuals offering a wide variety of therapeutic approaches. Counselling is a collaborative way of working which enables us to explore openly, creatively and with a spirit of curiosity what it is to be you.
